Unhappy FHWA-required high visibility vests sold out

According to Bridget Clay, who processes and ships orders for the Arkansas Press Association, the safety vests sold through APA have sold out. As of Nov. 24 the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) began requiring reporters and photographers covering events on highways to wear a high visibility “Class 2” vest meeting strict specifications.

APA has been selling compliant vests since last September, and after a recent wave of orders, has sold out of the product. The high visibility vests will be reordered, and will be distributed to backlogged requestors first. Those interested in purchasing vests are encouraged to place orders now. Contact Clay (501.374.1500; bridget@arkansaspress.org) to make a purchase or get further information.
