Exclamation SuperConvention info, forms sent to members

APA members and associates should have received in the mail the registration form and programming information for the annual SuperConvention to be held July 20-23 at the Hot Springs Convention Center.
The materials were mailed earlier this week. If you did not receive a packet of information, be sure to let the APA office know. The information will also be available on the APA website and is available below:
The SuperConvention will kick off with the annual golf outing at Belvedere Country Club Wednesday afternoon, July 20, followed by the annual “early bird” party to be held at the Carousel Terrace at Oaklawn Park.
The convention will continue through Saturday and will conclude with the annual Awards Luncheon during which the News-Editorial Contest winners will be announced.
Please take note of the hotel deadlines and be sure to get your reservations and also send in your registration for the SuperConvention, 2011.

Default One convention room block selling out

It didn’t take long for the APA room block at the Embassy Suites in Hot Springs to near a sell out for the July 20-23 SuperConvention to be held at the Hot Springs Convention Center. The block is sold out for Thursday night, although some rooms remain for Friday and Saturday night at the Embassy Suites. Rooms also remain in the room block at the Austin Hotel.

The Convention Center where all the events will take place is sandwiched between the Embassy Suites and the Austin Hotel. The APA arranged room blocks in both hotels to accommodate those attending the annual gathering. Of course, there are several other lodging accommodations in the Spa City, but it is peak visitor season in Hot Springs. Room reservations should be made quickly.

“It looks like we are again going to have excellent attendance at the SuperConvention this year,” said Tom Larimer, APA executive director.

The SuperConvention registration packets were mailed out recently containing all the information on events and activities at the gathering, including hotel information. You can also get information on the SuperConvention on the APA website at
Included in the website are registrations for the convention, for the annual golf outing, the “Kids’ Press Camp” event, and more.

The convention gets under way with the golf outing at the Belvedere Country Club in Hot Springs on Wednesday, July 20, and concludes with the News-Editorial Contest Awards Luncheon on Saturday, July 23.
