Default ArkLaMiss Circulation Conference 2008

Re: Annual ArkLaMiss Circulation Conference, Nov. 6-7, 2008, Vicksburg, Miss.

Don Michel, who has provided training and consulting services for newspapers in the U.S. and Canada ranging in circulation, from 2,000 to 500,000, will be the featured presenter at the annual ArkLaMiss Circulation Con-ference November 6-7 in Vicksburg, Miss.

The annual circulation conference, sponsored jointly by the press associations in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, has over the years attracted some of the leading experts in the circulation business to work with circulators from newspapers in the three states. Michel continues that list of top presenters.
During his newspaper career, Michel has held circulation executive positions at several newspapers, including the Des Moines Register and The Gazette at Cedar Rapids, Iowa where he now resides. He is presently co-owner of Anderson, Randles & Associates, a nationally recognized newspaper circulation consulting company.

The conference will be held again this year at the newly renovated Ameristar Casino and Hotel at Exit 1 on Interstate 20 in Vicksburg, overlooking the Mississippi River.

“This is a great setting for a circulation conference and it is traditionally a very good conference,” said Tom Larimer, APA executive director. “Of all the conferences we do each year, this one offers the best value for those attending.”

Max Heath, postal guru and chairman of the National Newspaper Association’s (NNA) postal committee, will also be on hand at ArkLaMiss. He’ll be available to work with circulators on their mailing statements and can almost always find ways to save money for newspapers.
“With higher fuel and mailing costs, newspaper circulation departments face a lot of challenges these days,” Larimer continued. “Our goal at the ArkLaMiss conference is to provide information on ways to improve our delivery systems while stretching the dollars we spend delivering our products.”
