Default Elkins' White River Valley News changes hands

Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, LLC, has agreed to sell the White River Valley News in Elkins to Madison County Record, Inc. The new owners will begin publishing the White River Valley News on Sept. 1.

Ellen Kreth, currently publisher of the Madison County Record in Huntsville, will serve as publisher of both newspapers. Kyle Mooty will serve as general manager of both the Record and the News. Northwest Arkansas Newspapers, a joint venture formed by WEHCO Media, Inc., and Stephens Media, LLC, owns 10 APA member newspapers after the sale of the Elkins publication and the consolidation of three newspapers in Decatur, Gentry and Gravette into one, the Westside Eagle Observer, headquartered in Gravette.
