Default National Newspaper Week Info

October 4 - 10 - National Newspaper Week. Go to <> , click on the link and then give us your e-mail address. When the media kits are uploaded to the site, you'll receive an e-mail that it's time to start promoting your industry/your newspaper. "Newspapers: Carrying the Torch of Freedom" is the theme this year. NNWeek has been sponsored since the 1940s by the Newspaper Association Managers and is the host site for National Newspaper Week.

Consider featuring a teacher or classroom that uses your newspaper in the classroom; run a feature on the First Amendment and let students respond; ask students to write essays on why the First Amendment is important, etc. This is another great opportunity for an editorial contest for the community. Have a guest columnist write about the theme. Thank your NIE sponsors during the week. Run some tips or items from the APA NIE website.

Promote your newspaper and your dedication to your community. Your paper is doing a great job in the community. Celebrate it!
