Default Ad Conference deadline approaching

The registration deadline for APA’s 2010 Advertising Conference is fast approaching. Those interested in attending the annual event must register by March 8. Registration forms and informational flyers have been sent to all member newspapers, and additional copies are available at the Association’s Web site—in the “Upcoming Events” Section.

This year’s Ad Conference will convene at the Clarion on the Lake in Hot Springs. As in recent years, the meeting will include the Awards Banquet, during which the winners of the 2010 Better Newspaper Advertising Contest will be announced, an Idea Exchange with cash prizes and roundtable discussions. Nationally-known consultant, author and speaker Mike Blinder will be the featured speaker.

Many have already signed up for the 2010 conference, including (alphabetically by name of residence):
  • Harrison: Steve Edwards, Todd Edwards, Linda Gilmore, Jason Overman, Beverly Swafford, Gena Whillock, Harrison Daily Times;
  • Hot Springs: Nat Lea, Tom Overton, Gary Troutman, The Sentinel-Record;
  • Jonesboro: Pat Ockert, Roy Ockert, The Sun;
  • Lake Village: Whitney White, Chicot County Spectator;
  • Mountain View: Bill Corder, Rusty Fraser, Neil Fraser, Linda Kroon Van Diest, Stone County Leader;
  • Nashville: Tamzen Jarrett-Cox, Morgan Jones, Nashville News;
  • Osceola: Steve Knox, Osceola Times;
  • Stuttgart: Claudia Ahrens, Danni Jo Bueker, Jim Kennedy, Melinda Moorehead, Stuttgart Daily Leader;
  • Walnut Ridge: Cindy Richardson, Angie Skimahorn, Times Dispatch.
“APA Day at the Races” at Oaklawn Park will follow the conclusion of the conference. The Association will host a luncheon at Oaklawn Jockey Club and will sponsor the third race.
