Awesome NIE Programs Across the State - Part 1
While following some of our state's NIE programs, it came to mind that I needed to salute these fine newspapers for their outstanding extra efforts to make their communities a better place to live, work and play!

Here are a highlights of a few of the Newspaper in Education programs in Arkansas:
The Paragould Daily Press provides a kid's educational page with sponsors called Just Kidding.
The Benton Courier has been running some really great Newspapers in Education ads saluting NIE business partners who are actively promoting literacy and citizenship by providing the Courier to students in local classrooms.
The Benton County Daily Record has been featuring the Cherokee Traditional serialized stories in their newspaper. These are provided by the Arkansas Press Association and the Cherokee Nation as a free service and can be found by following the links at
The Malvern Daily Record does a great job writing features about their NIE sponsors. These are a form of testimonials that spotlight the community involvement of each sponsor.
The DeQueen Bee's educational page has several activities for kids of all ages. Seventeen sponsors are listed on the page! Way to go!
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette in Little Rock has a great ad to recognize the businesses and organizations that support their NIE program. They have three categories of sponsorships: Diamond, Platinum, and Gold.
The Harrison Daily Times NIE program serves Harrison and Newton County. They provide a kids page, workshops, and a column about the environment as a part of their program.
