APA to make second statewide ad buy
It was a first late last year when the Arkansas Press Association purchased ads in each APA member newspaper promoting newspaper readership and advertising. It’s going to be a second next week when APA again buys an ad in every member newspaper, this time promoting political advertising.

“We’re having a great year,” said Tom Larimer, APA executive director. “This ad buy serves the dual purpose of sending some business to our members while promoting the obvious positives about using newspapers for political advertising.”

The ads will run four columns by nine inches in most newspapers. The order is for the ads to run black only, however, newspapers will have the option of running the ads in color if they so choose. The ads will be available both ways, color and black only.

The APA Board of Directors had decided late last year to perhaps repeat the statewide ad buy in mid-year if the fiscal success of APA continued. The second statewide buy came out of a discussion at the Board meeting that took place at the SuperConvention in July.

“It feels very good that APA is able to make this second statewide ad buy,” Larimer continued. “The APA staff has worked hard to make this record year a reality and we are pleased to be able to share that success with our members while promoting our industry.”
