The Riverwalk Casino Hotel in Vicksburg, Miss., site for the Nov. 5-6 ArkLaMiss Circulation Conference, Wednesday lowered the room rate for those attending the conference to $49.95 per day, a $20 discount from the previously announced conference rate.
At the same time the hotel has agreed to extend the deadline for hotel reservations at the conference rate until Sunday, Oct. 25. Call the hotel toll free at 1-866-615-9125 and referencethe ArkLaMiss Conference to get this group rate. Those who have already made reservations will have their room rate reduced to the new rate.
There is also still time to apply for an Arkansas Newspaper Foundation $200 grant to attend this annual conference. Applications and more information on the grants can be found on the APA Web site at www.arkansaspress (http://arkansaspress.org).org. Check the "ABA Spotlight" section on the front page.
At this point there are 50 registered to attend the ArkLaMiss Conference, but only five from APA newspapers. It’s not too late to be a part of this popular annual conference, but time is running out.
